A new model for urban freight
OCL connects rail, inland waterway, road and last mile delivery through a single, container-based system. Freight moves through the city without repacking, delay, or fixed infrastructure.
Containers are loaded once and moved through an optimised chain using the most appropriate modes available:
• Rail or trunk road for inbound freight
• Electric vans from suburban depots to city transfer points
• Electric vessels to central river locations (where available)
• Pierhead and kerbside drop-offs positioned close to demand
• Cargo bikes for final mile delivery
Each leg is optional. The system adapts to what's available — and what performs best.
Transfers take minutes. First delivery starts immediately.
OCL removes the need for permanent consolidation centres. Instead, it uses short-duration, on-demand transfer points at kerbside, depots and river piers.
• Reduces cost
• Removes real estate constraints
• Allows the network to flex with demand
• Fewer handovers
• Shorter routes
• Higher asset utilisation
• Faster first drop
• Lower cost per delivery
OCL defines how freight moves physically.
IM Flow coordinates and optimises it digitally.
